I am happy to report that we survived our first week back from Europe. We returned from a tough training phase in Holland and Germany and jumped right back into the action here in San Diego. In fact, this was the first time that we experienced what it really means to train in a “heat chamber”
Last Wednesday, we stepped foot into a small “circus-like” tent for the first time. Thanks to heaters and a sprinkler system, the interior was around 100 degrees and humid. We spent approximately 53 minutes doing mild to moderate conditioning under the conditions to help our bodies adapt. We ride stationary bikes, pylometrics, and weight lifting in three different stations. Our staff is very precise at monitoring heart rates and hydration, all in an effort to ensure we are adapting to the heat and staying healthy. I am happy to report that I felt much better training in the heat chamber today then the first attempt. I hope that is a good sign for things to come. We will take a rest over the next two days and regroup for training on Monday. I have a baby shower and date with friends to see Mama Mia planned for the weekend. Until next time…….
