SCROLL DOWN FOR DETAILS AND REGISTRATION LINKS** Cincinnati FHL Indoor Overview: FHL offers practice & tournament opportunities for U10/U12, U14, U16, & U19 field players & goalkeepers in partnership with Summit Country Day. The indoor sport is 6v6 and is played on a gym or sport court surface. We offer three different indoor programs detailed below: Program Option 1 - Academy Program Option 2 - Regional Program Option 3 - Select
All athletes (field players & goalkeepers) must register for our Academy. Athletes can then choose if they want to be a part of an Academy team, Regional team, or Select team. Please note that all dates/times are subject to change.
Program Option 1: Academy Teams Our Academy Teams are a great option for athletes of all skill levels who are looking to develop their technical and tactical skills throughout the winter but are unable to commit to additional game opportunities. Practices: Weekly practices for 1hr45 min between 6pm-9:30pm at Summit Country Day on Wednesdays, Dec. 2nd, 9th, 16th, & 30th, Jan. 6th, 13th, 20th, & 27th, Feb. 3rd, 10th, 17th, & 24th In addition to in-person training, athletes will also be offered a weekday virtual hockey workout. Program Option 2: Regional Teams: The Regional Team is great for athletes of all skill levels looking for weekly training to better their technical and tactical understanding of the game, but who are also seeking out game experience. Regional Teams provide a great environment for athletes who are trying out indoor for the first time, and want to gain experience in the indoor sport through in-state games prior to attending competitive travel tournaments. Practices: Weekly practices for 1hr45min between 6pm-9:30pm at Summit Country Day on Wednesdays, Dec 2nd, 9th, 16th, & 30th, Jan 6th 13th, 20th, & 27th, Feb. 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th In addition to in-person training, athletes will also be offered a weekday virtual hockey workout. Tournaments: There will be 2-3 Regional Team Play Days on Sundays that take place in Columbus, Cincinnati, and/or Cleveland. Sunday, Jan. 3rd in Cincinnati, Sunday, Feb. 7th in Columbus, and/or Sunday, Feb. 14th in Columbus Fees: Academy fee + $50 per play day Age Groups: U10, U12, U14, U16, & U19 Registration: Links are the bottom of the page. Program Option 3: Select Teams: The Select Teams are the most competitive option of our indoor programs and tryouts are required. Select Teams train weekly in Columbus, but are open to athletes from all three cities if they are able to attend the trainings in Columbus. Teams are named once athletes attend tryouts, and train throughout the indoor season at a high level in preparation for the National Indoor Tournament Qualifier and/or National Indoor Tournament. U16 & U19 teams must attend and NITQ to qualify for the NIT. U14 athletes automatically qualify for NITs. Practices: Weekly practices in Columbus at Bill McDonald Athletic Complex on Saturdays, Dec 19th, Jan. 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, & 30th, Feb. 6th & 13th, 20th, 27th, March 6, March 13 U14 Select Teams will train in a 2 hour time block from 5:15pm-7:15pm. U16 Select Teams will train in a 2 hour time block from 12:45pm-2:45pm. U19 Select Teams will train in a 2 hour time block from 3:00-5:00pm or 5:15pm-7:15pm. Goalkeepers will have GK-specific training and team training in the time block associated with their team. In addition to in-person training, athletes will also be offered a weekday virtual hockey workout. Tournaments: Preparation tournaments/scrimmages will be scheduled during the indoor season. U16 & U19 teams will attend an NITQ in Louisville or Pennsylvania. U14 teams will automatically attend the National Indoor Tournament. Dates are TBD. Tryouts: Sunday, November 8th (in a block between 8am-3pm) & Saturday, November 14th (in a block between 3:30pm-10:30pm) Athletes MUST attend at least one tryout, but are encouraged to attend both. If athletes tryout but are not named to a Select team, they will be automatically placed onto a Regional team. Fees: Academy fee + $50 Select Tryout fee + $325 Select fee once named to a team U16 & U19 athletes will have an additional $225 fee if their team qualifies for the National Indoor Tournament. Should COVID mandates cause our facility to close, we will do our best to find alternative in-person training opportunities, but can't guarantee this. Should COVID mandates restrict in-person training, we will move to a virtual format.
