Cleveland Indoor Season 2021-2022

Age Groups:
U10, U12, U14, U16, & U19
​Open to field players and goalkeepers from all schools and skill levels!
Age Group Definitions:
U19:  Birthdate in 2003-2005
U16: Birthdate in 2006-2007
U14: Birthdate in 2008-2009
U12: Birthdate in 2010-2011
U10: Birthdate in 2012-2014

Indoor Field Hockey:
The indoor sport is played on a sport-court or gym surface floor, and is a fast-paced, fun game with lots of touches!
Teams play 6v6 (typically 5 field players and 1 goalkeeper).
The court has small boards on the left and right side for the ball to be played off of.

Cleveland Indoor Program:
1. Regional (all age groups train in Cleveland)
2. Select (U14 train in Cleveland, U16 & U19 train in Columbus)

All Cleveland FHL Regional age groups train locally in CLE.


Our Regional program is comprised of athletes who are looking to develop their individual and team field hockey skills while also having the opportunity to compete in local and regional intra-FHL game opportunities. Our regional play days are comprised of FHL teams from Columbus, Cleveland, and/or Cincinnati.

Important note for U12 regional athletes:
In addition to the regional program, U12 athletes will have the potential opportunity to be selected for the National Indoor Tournament as the season progresses.

Regional Trainings + 2 Regional Play Days = Total
U10: $295 training + $100 for 2 play days = $395
U12: $295 training + $100 for 2 play days = $395
U14: $400 training + $100 for 2 play days = $500
U16: $510 training + $100 for 2 play days = $610
U19: $510 training + $100 for 2 play days = $610

Uniform Requirements:
Athletes will also need to purchase the practice uniform if they do not own it already. Details will be provided at a later date. Athletes should also have a left hand glove.​

2. Select:

​Age Groups: U14, U16, U19
U14 CLE Select athletes train locally in CLE.
IMPORTANT: U16 & U19 CLE Select athletes travel to train in Columbus.

Our Select teams are comprised of athletes from Ohio who are looking to train at an intense level and ultimately play for the chance to compete at the National Indoor Tournament. Athletes are named to our Select teams through a tryout process in Columbus for U16 & U19 athletes. U14 athletes can be selected for the U14 Select Cleveland team after being evaluated at the first practice sessions in Cleveland. The Select season is then made up of practices and local/regional tournament opportunities against outside clubs. Select Teams will be sent to a National Indoor Qualifier with the hopes of qualifying for the National Indoor Tournament. Athletes who are pursuing the Select option should be committed to the training and tournament schedule in order to have the best team preparation for the NIQ/NIT. Athletes who are not named to a Select team will be automatically placed into the Regional program.

U14: $400 training + $100 for 2 FHL-hosted select play days = $500*
U16: $50 tryout fee + $510 training
​+ $100 for 2 FHL-hosted select play days = $660*
U19: $50 tryout fee + $510 training
​+ $100 for 2 FHL-hosted select play days = $660*
​*There will be additional select fee(s) required at a later date to cover additional tournaments, such as regional travel tournaments, NIQ, and NIT.
