FHL COVID protocols and PRECAUTIONS
SECTION UPDATED 1/12/22 at 8:25am: All COVID-related scenarios should be communicated to Keli Puzo at kelipuzo.fhl@gmail.com.
Due to the current increase in COVID cases in our state and in an effort to keep athletes as healthy as possible, on January 5th, FHL implemented a mask policy while training at our facilities for athletes and staff. This decision will be revisited on Monday, January 24th, and participants will be updated accordingly. FHL will implement the facility-specific COVID-19 protocols/precautions at each of our locations (Bill McDonald Athletic Complex, Western Reserve Academy, and Summit Athletic Complex). Please note that these facility protocols may vary between sites based on local mandates or facility requirements. At all sites, athletes should continue to physically distance when possible. Spectators will not be allowed at any practice sessions. Spectator policies for play days are TBD. Only enter the facility once the session before you is complete and has cleared out of the facility.
All athletes should screen for symptoms at home each day. Any athletes who are sick and/or experiencing symptoms must stay home. If an athlete develops symptoms during a session, they should isolate from others at the facility immediately. A designated emergency contact must be available to pick-up the athlete from the session should this occur if the athlete is unable to transport themselves. Follow-up with FHL staff accordingly.
Participants must notify FHL immediately if they test positive for COVID-19, have a probable case of COVID-19, or have been exposed to a probable or confirmed case of COVID-19 (regardless of the participant's vaccination status). Do not attend any FHL sessions until a return-to-play plan has been established. FHL will communicate directly with that participant/parent/guardian regarding next steps. Participants should check with their local health department for guidance. Participants should then follow the applicable local, state, or CDC guidelines as it relates to their scenario and vaccination status.
