We welcome all athletes as part of FHL, and strive to maintain a club whose core principles include respect, inclusivity, humility, dedication, and winning/losing with dignity. It is our expectation that members of our club incorporate these principles into all of our programs and events. FHL is a competitive environment with professional coaches aiming to provide the best possible training. Interference by a parent, or any individual, trying to impede the mission or structure of the club will not be tolerated.
There will be no coaching from the sideline, other than the coaching staff on the bench.
*All concerns or issues must be directed to the athlete's coach, by the athlete. FHL encourages open and direct communication.
FHL is a premier training academy. Our first priority is to develop each player, but for those players participating on Select Teams, playing time is not guaranteed.
FHL Attendance Guidelines
Attendance is a priority with Field Hockey Life. Individual and team growth is directly correlated to how much you practice. We expect all registered athletes to attend practices and tournaments. We understand emergencies arise and athletes might have conflicts occasionally, but all absences must be communicated early and will be handled on a case by case basis.
FHL 2022-2023 Registration & Refund Policy
All participants must read and agree to the below registration and refund policies prior to registering for an FHL program.
General Information: FHL will honor requests for refunds for our 2023 spring season if requested by March 13th. All refund requests will be subject to a $10.00 processing/administrative fee, which will be withheld from the refunded amount. After March 13th, all refund requests must be accompanied by a doctor's note, and the note must be received prior to the first day of season in order to receive a refund.
Select Tryout Information: For the 2023 spring season, athletes who tryout for a select team but are not named to a select team will stay enrolled in our spring academy. Refunds for select team travel tournaments are done on a case by case basis. Prorate Inquiries: FHL does not prorate programs! We do our best to work around athlete schedules but if players need to miss sessions, we cannot deduct the price.
Weather Cancellations: In addition, if inclement weather causes FHL to cancel a session, it is not guaranteed that the training will be rescheduled.
Clinics: All one-day clinics are non-refundable. If you encounter an emergency and can not attend, please contact FHL and let them know. If we encounter unfavorable weather, we will do our best to play through it or extend the clinic hour if facilities allow us to do so.
Camps: Seven days or more prior to the start of camp, FHL will refund 1/2 the total price of the camp. Six days or less to the start of camp, FHL can not refund any of the total amount.
Weather Cancellation, ctd. (FHL club practices only, not camps/clinics)
If there is inclement weather conditions and practice needs to be cancelled, we will contact you and post the information as soon as possible. We will do our best to make-up cancelled practices, but it is not a guarantee.
Playing Up an Age Group:
Individual players may be asked to play up an age group for two reasons. First, coaches may move up players to even out numbers. Second, a player may move up to be more challenged. It is a priority within the club for individual development, as well as team development. Therefore, an athlete may be asked to play up an age group in rare cases.
